Please see the attached link below. The State of Vermont needs help in order to proceed with the clean up of the debris from the flood that occurred in July. It is very important that property owners report debris to the Town Manager’s Office 802-472-6120. This will help the State of Vermont and State Emergency Management Program know where there needs attention.

The Hardwick Police Department is Hiring

The Town of Hardwick Police Department is accepting applications for the following positions:

Patrol Officer

Sergeant

The Town is seeking energetic, positive professionals with a strong desire to provide quality police services to a progressive community. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age; possess exceptional moral character; strong work ethics, be able to pass the Vermont Criminal Justice Training Council’s (VCJTC) physical fitness test, the VCJTC entrance exam & psychological evaluation (MMPI). Applicants chosen to proceed in the hiring process will undergo an extensive background investigation, to include a polygraph test and interviews with the Chief of Police and Town Manager. Current full-time (Level 3) certified officers are encouraged to apply.

Minimum job requirements for the Sergeant role include the following: graduation from an accredited two-year college or university with a degree in Sociology, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or other closely related field with three years of police work experience. Five years of increasingly responsible police experience, preferably in a municipal or state environment, two years of which must have involved supervisory and administrative responsibility. Additional years of police work experience as defined above may be substituted for the associate degree.

Current labor contracts provide for competitive wages and benefits including health insurance, life insurance, a generous amount of accrued time off, and participation in the Vermont Municipal Retirement System. Day, night, weekend, and holiday work required. This is a Union position.
